The earliest documented examples of tooth gems date back to the Mayan Empire in approximately 300AD. Mayan Nobility drilled and implanted their teeth with precious gemstones and jade, adhered with natural resins.

Many other cultures throughout history, such as the Vikings and Ancient Egyptians, practiced tooth adornment and modification for aesthetic purposes.

Tooth Gems:

Tooth Gems or Tooth Charms are tiny rhinestones, jewels, gem stones or gold charms that are attached to the surface of the tooth for decoration using a special adhesive and light-curing process.

Tooth jewelry comes in a variety of styles and the creative options are virtually limitless! We have genuine Swarovski Crystals, 18k Gold Charms, and even Opals to choose from! Tooth gems are non-invasive; they don't damage the tooth or enamel and are semi-permanent. The average lifespan of a Tooth Gem is 6 months to 1 year.

All products used are dental-grade, non-toxic and lead-free.

Want a specific shape, stone or gem? Let us know ahead of time and we will custom order it!

Please be aware that the shape of your tooth and individual enamel is a factor in the adhesion and longevity of your Tooth Gem.
Gems cannot be applied to damaged or cracked teeth and will only bond to natural tooth enamel (not veneers or false teeth).
You will want to avoid biting/chewing with the tooth and hard or acidic food & drink for at least 24 hours to ensure your gem is fully cured.
